This buck has to be one of the best looking "typical" framed bucks I have ever photographed. I caught him in the open one early November morning as he crossed the field chasing and courting his does. He is truly a beautiful buck--a buck of a lifetime.

Thanksgiving time is the best time to photograph mule deer. If the temperatures are cold enough (most importantly you have the pertinence) you have done your scouting and are in a known area for huge bucks, your chance to see mature bucks dramatically increases. Photographing them is another story. They can be extremely elusive.
