This buck lived and roamed on the back side of a Colorado mountain ridge I have photographed for years. I actually seen him the year before as he was walked up to his knees in deep snow moving toward a group of does. I only took a few pictures of his 28 inch wide rack that year, but I new he had potential to become a monster buck.

The picture above shows this buck's massive antlers as he looks back at me when I approached from down wind and below him. I chased him over rocks, through patches of timber and over mountain saddles to capture as many images of him as possible. Bucks like this are rare and hard to find--so when I find these guys, I stick with until my leg muscles can no longer take the burning from climbing and hiking in the steep places they live.
